Legal Representation

Legal Representation is normally provided for family law and criminal law matters. If you need advice on a civil matter then contact our telephone advice service.

To apply for legal aid, make an appointment with a lawyer of your choice or attend our clinic advice service nearest to you.

If you are having difficulty choosing a lawyer to suit your needs, please contact our telephone advice service for a referral. It is important to choose your lawyer carefully because you may not be permitted to change lawyers once legal aid has been approved.

If you decide to apply for legal representation through one of our offices, a suitably qualified Legal Aid lawyer will be appointed to act for you.

It is a condition of your grant of legal aid that you accept the reasonable advice of your lawyer.
