Senior Assist - text version

During the COVID – 19
crisis, some seniors
may be at heightened
risk of elder abuse.

Senior Assist remains open and  we continue to provide a service to seniors during this time.

We provide free legal advice, assistance and support for people who are at risk of, or are experiencing elder abuse.

We can help you if you are over the age of 65 years or 50 years if you are
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Senior Assist is a specialist elder abuse service trial funded by the Commonwealth Government Senior Assist Client story

Peter was pressured to be guarantor on a family member’s loan. Senior Assist was able to assist him by preparing a letter that outlined undue influence he experienced and the bank agreed to waive his obligation to pay a significant amount of money.

“I was in a terrible position and didn’t know what to do. This service is excellent. People like me need good legal advice to help us in times of need.”

Our team includes a case manager and lawyers and we can assist you wherever you are in Tasmania.

How to contact Senior Assist If you are in immediate danger or risk of significant harm, call police on 000.
