The service aims to alleviate child abuse by providing support to parents, carers and families. National, confidential video counselling by appointment, offering counselling, education and support services. Child abuse prevention information and protective education available via an online video materials and Safe Program Booklet for parents and childcare centres, schools. Etc.

Laurel House is a community based organisation that provides therapeutic services and support for women, men and children. Their Service is completely confidential and free to victim/survivors and their families, friends and support people of sexual violence. They do not see perpetrators/offenders of any form of violence.

Laurel House provides face-to-face and phone counselling, 24-hour crisis service, support through the forensic/medical process, information and support through the legal process, referral and information services and outreach to rural areas.

Laurel House also offers community education, professional training and debriefing to professionals working with victim/survivors.

A counselling and support service for female and male victims of sexual assault 18 years and older. Run by Sexual Assault Support Services Inc. (SASS). Also provides counselling and support to family members and support people.

Australian government scheme for people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse. Those people affected by institutional child sexual abuse can register for the scheme from 1 July 2018. The Helpline can answer questions that potential claimants may have.

The Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) is a free and confidential support service for southern Tasmanian people of all ages who have been affected by any form of sexual violence. We also provide information and support to professionals, and offer a range of training workshops and education sessions throughout Tasmania.

 

SASS’ services include:

  • Counselling and support (southern Tasmania)
  • Crisis services (southern Tasmania)
  • Redress Scheme Support Services (state-wide)
  • Therapeutic treatment for children and young people displaying Problem Sexual Behaviour and Sexually Abusive Behaviour (state-wide)
  • Training & educational workshops (state-wide)
  • Policy feedback and consultation about sexual violence and related topics (state-wide)

 

SASS is open 9am – 5pm weekdays, and also operates a 24 hour crisis line (1800 697 877).

The Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) provides a 24 hour a day support and information service regarding available choices to victims of recent rape or sexual assault, their family and support people including whether and how to:

  • report the crime to Police
  • Have a Forensic Medical Examination, medical check up or access emergency contraception
  • Access ongoing counselling and support

The Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) is a community based service committed to providing high quality support and information services to survivors of sexual assault in Southern Tasmania, their carers and support people, professionals and the general public.

SASS provides information and support services to people who have been recently sexually assaulted and counselling services for children and adults of all ages, religion, sexual orientation, ability and socio-economic groups who have experiences sexual abuse at any time of their lives.
