Youth Futures is a non profit organisation that offers a number of services specifically aimed at young people. However, many of their programs are not age dependant.
Accommodation – Core service offering accommodation for young men who are homeless or at immediate risk of becoming homeless.
Employment – Another core program offering Employment services, similar to those offered at Job Network.
RTO – Youth Futures has become a Registered Training Office, meaning they can deliver nationally accredited units and qualifications. Currently focused on Construction/Manufacturing and Agricultural Skills. They also offer some generic training such as First Aid and OH&S.
The Castle – Ties in with training where participants can gain Manufacturing and Construction skills and is also a micro-housing development project aiming to create and provide micro-dwellings for youth at risk of homelessness.
National workplace relations tribunal. It is an independant body with the power to carry out a range of functions relating to the safety net of minimum wages and employment conditions; enterprise bargaining; industrial action; dispute resolution; termination of employement and other workplace matters.
Workplace Relations consultants. Represents interests of employers. Assists with unfair dismissals, enterprise agreements, workplace training, employment contracts and other workplace issues.
IP Australia is the Australian Government agency that administers intellectual property (IP) rights and legislation relating to patents, trade marks, designs and plant breeder’s rights.

The Financial Ombudsman Service fairly and independently resolves disputes between consumers, including some small businesses and member financial service providers.
The independent dispute resolution processes cover financial services disputes including banking, credit loans, general insurance, life insurance, financial planning, investments, stock brokers, managed funds and pooled superannuation trusts. They also cover estate planning, estate management and trustee services.
This service is free for consumers.
The Commonwealth Ombudsman provides an independent and impartial service, protecting the interests of private health insurance consumers. The Ombudsman can take complaints from health fund members, health funds, hospitals and medical practitioners. Complainants should try to resolve their complaint directly with their private health insurer before contacting the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman.
The Postal Industry Ombudsman (PIO) is an independent body that investigates complaints about the postal and courier industry. The PIO can investigate complaints about Australia Post, or about any other postal or courier operators that register with the scheme.
The Self Representation Service can assist unrepresented litigants with civil law proceedings in the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court relating to Bankruptcy and Fair Work.
They are unable to provide assistance for family and criminal law matters.
They can provide free assistance to individuals who:
- are involved in, or are considering commencing legal proceedings in the Federal Court or Federal Circuit Court.
- Have a legal issue that they have expertise in.
- Are not represented.
- Are unable to afford private legal assistance.
- Are ineligible for Legal Aid.
The Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman safeguards the community in its dealings with the Australian Government. We also have oversight of some private sector organisations.
If an Australian Government agency has treated you unfairly or unreasonably, we can help you find a solution. Our service is free and we are independent.

The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) provide information and assistance to small businesses and family enterprises, including referral to dispute resolution services.
The ASBFEO information line is open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and is closed on Australian National Public Holidays.
