The role of the Fair Work Ombudsman is to work with employees, employers, contractors and the community to promote harmonious, productive and co-operative workplaces. The Fair Work Ombudsman will investigate workplace complaints and enforce compliance with Australia’s workplace laws.
The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) provide information and assistance to small businesses and family enterprises, including referral to dispute resolution services.
The ASBFEO information line is open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and is closed on Australian National Public Holidays.
The Self Representation Service can assist unrepresented litigants with civil law proceedings in the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court relating to Bankruptcy and Fair Work.
They are unable to provide assistance for family and criminal law matters.
They can provide free assistance to individuals who:
- are involved in, or are considering commencing legal proceedings in the Federal Court or Federal Circuit Court.
- Have a legal issue that they have expertise in.
- Are not represented.
- Are unable to afford private legal assistance.
- Are ineligible for Legal Aid.

It is an independant body with the power to carry out a range of functions relating to the safety net of minimum wages and employment conditions; enterprise bargaining; industrial action; dispute resolution; termination of employement and other workplace matters.

Enterprise Centres Tasmania is a statewide network of business advisors funded by the Tasmanian government

The Commonwealth Ombudsman provides an independent and impartial service, protecting the interests of private health insurance consumers. The Ombudsman can take complaints from health fund members, health funds, hospitals and medical practitioners. Complainants should try to resolve their complaint directly with their private health insurer before contacting the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman.

The Postal Industry Ombudsman (PIO) is an independent body that investigates complaints about the postal and courier industry. The PIO can investigate complaints about Australia Post, or about any other postal or courier operators that register with the scheme.
