Supported accommodation is a model of 24 hour support in a shared home environment. In most cases groups of up to five people live together in supported accommodation and a staffing group of around ten people work on a rostered basis with them.

In circumstances where a person has individualised funding that covers 24/7 support, they may choose to live by themselves.

To be eligible for placement in supported accommodation, a person living with disability needs to be a client of Disability & Community Services. They will then be referred to service providers such as Optia.
