Victims Support Services is part of the Department of Justice, the unit is dedicated to victims of crime.
They are responsible for:
- The administration of the Eligible Persons Register (previously known as the Victims Register) and the provision of information to victims from that Register
- Liaison between the victim and other divisions of the Department of Justice
- Operation and management of the Victims of Crime Service
- Provision of information to victims regarding court processes
- The provision of Court Support and Liaison Service for victims of family violence (as part of the ‘Safe at Home’ project)
- Co-ordination of Victim/Offender mediation in a limited number of appropriate cases
- Administration of Victims of Crime Assistance (financial assistance for victims of crime) and the provision of assistance to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Commissioners.

This is a non-government body that provides training, education, guidance and social affiliation for Justices of the Peace.

The Tasmanian Elder Abuse Helpline is a service operated by Advocacy Tasmania Inc. on behalf on the Tasmanian Government. It assists older people, families, service providers and the wider community to respond to elder abuse and better access existing supports and services. It is a free, confidential and statewide service.
Operates Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

The VRB is an independent tribunal that reviews decisions made by the Repatriation Commission, the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission and the Service Chiefs of the Australian Army, the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force.

Primarily an educational programme, however, there exists a programme where volunteers are teamed with a person wanting support and assistance with completing forms, writing letters, etc.

The National Enquiry Centre (NEC) is the entry point for all telephone and email enquiries on Family Law Court matters (Federal Circuit Court and Family Court of Australia). The NEC can provide information and procedural advice, forms and brochures and referral advice to community and support services. NEC staff cannot provide legal advice.

Hears appeals from decisions of single judges of the Court and from the Federal Circuit Court of Australia in non family law matters.
The Court’s jurisdiction covers almost all civil matters arising under Australian Federal Law and some summary and indictable criminal matters. It also has jurisdiction to hear and determine matters arising under the Constitution. It also exercises as a first instance jurisdiction to hear objections to decisions made by the Commissioner of Taxation and determines native title determination applications and to be responsible for their mediation.
