Research shows that financial difficulties can impact upon many areas of life: not only does financial pressure reduce options, increase the risk of family violence occurring and (even without abuse) contribute to relationship breakdown, recent studies emphasise the long-term negative impacts of financial disadvantage for older women, including vulnerability to homelessness.
